Angela & Brian
How they met. Brian and Angela met in the summer of 1999 during a good-bye party for the summer interns while they were both working for Connor, Clark and Lunn. They knew of each other previously – he was a consultant and she, being in accounts payable, paid his invoices, but this was the first time they had socialized. Angela’s brother Mike was coming in for the weekend to celebrate his 19th birthday and Angela invited him to the festivities - he happily agreed.

Brian took Angela to the Irish Heather for their first date. It was a wonderful meal, a great time and wonderful conversation. Brian found out Angela didn’t want children and he was more than okay with that. Angela thought it was a great sign…until he dropped her off. Keep in mind Angela hadn’t dated anyone with a luxury vehicle before and didn’t know that his car automatically locked and the door needed a double release. So she freaked out thinking he locked her in the car and once she got the door opened – she bolted before the goodnight kiss!

Luckily, he forgave her and they’ve been together almost nine years now! Brian had Angela’s red spinel ring custom made by Michelle La Vie from LaVie Diamonds in Vancouver. He then proceeded to make her wait another two months before he proposed! (She survived by sneaking into the safe at night after Brian went to bed!) Angela was going to Vancouver Island to visit her parents Easter long weekend and Brian said that he would make her breakfast in bed the morning she was leaving. Brian has been known to do this on a regular basis, so it didn’t seem out of line to her. He made her favourite: ham and mushroom scrambled egg croissant. Just as she was finishing, he started acting strange, unable to complete a sentence. She finally realized that he was proposing and even though she knew it was coming, she cried like a baby.
